McLaren's Miracle
Watch Bette McLaren & Linda Lawson unveil the plaque to Bill at the 16th hole on Hawick Golf course at the inaugural Bill McLaren Celeb Am in August 2010.
A total of 11 British Lions and 630 Scottish International caps played the Hawick course that Bill loved so much. Rugby greats of the game such as Andy Irvine, SRU President Ian McLauchlan, Tony Stanger, Gregor Townsend, Scott Hastings, Craig Chalmers, Keith Robertson, Iwan Tukalo, Jim Renwick and Roy Laidlaw played with corporate teams who supported the event. Two legends from the 1959 Lions tour – Ken Scotland and Bev Risman – also played at the event.
