BMF Asia congratulates David Griffiths on new role

David Griffiths appointed national team coach and technical advisor with the Chinese Rugby Football Association.

The Bill McLaren Foundation wish to congratulate David Griffiths on his appointment as National team coach and technical advisor with the Chinese Rugby Football Association.

David is an avid volunteer having worked for the Scottish Rugby Union (2013 – 2015) as U16 National Selector and with The Bill McLaren Foundation having created the U10 BMF Tournament in the region.

Currently Deputy Headmaster at Oxford International College (From September 2016, Wycombe Abbey International School) Changzhou, China. The National Coach and Technical Advisor roles run alongside his leadership post in school. David said;

"I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to support the CRFA. Last year the woman's team won the Asian 7s, and the CRFA are ambitious. I am very excited at what can be achieved with the small player base. With much of the youth development and coach education based at Oxford International College centre of academic & sporting excellence, a growing number of volunteers and players are being supported

in rugby education, which is helping support the growth and quality of the game.”

David promotes the core values of the Bill McLaren Foundation within the local and regional rugby tournaments organized, and also within a bespoke Physical Education program designed by David at the local Orphanage in Changzhou. A formal link between the school and Orphanage that sees teachers and students give their time to deliver Physical Education, Language and Maths lessons to the children during term time.

The next set of updates from Asia will include more photos from the upcoming tournaments in March, April and August 2016.
