Our 6th Voice of Rugby Dinner sponsored by Carbon Financial Partners, was held once again in the warm friendly atmosphere of Prestonfield House Hotel.

Guests were treated to a galaxy of talent with Bill’s grandson, Rory Lawson (MC) welcoming first of all the all-time great Irish flanker Fergus Slattery to pay tribute to rugby and Bill. Rob Wainwright, a great supporter of the Foundation delighted the audience with his stories and accents. Roger Baird joined forces with Fergus Slattery to provide an entertaining live auction raising substantial funds. Rory Lawson then brought the little magician Shane Williams onto the stage to tell us how “a little un” (as Bill would have said), managed to perform so many amazing deeds on the international stage.

Our thanks go again to James Thomson and his wonderful team at Prestonfield, to all our special guests and generous donors, and to everyone who came along to enjoy a fantastic evening of good fun and laughter. We sincerely thank you all for your continuing invaluable support.

Nick Farr-Jones and Micheal Lynagh are out of the top drawer as Bill would have said. Arguably the best ever half back pairing the game has seen and Captain and Vice Captain of the 1991 World Cup winning Australian team. Guests were also enamoured by surprise singer/entertainer, Cole Page who had everyone up on their feet by the end of the afternoon!

An exceptional sum of just under £50,000 was raised on the day and shared equally between the Foundation and Edinburgh Academicals, who we can't praise highly enough for their hard work and dedication.
