Alloa earn PCS Accreditation
Alloa Rugby Club has become the eighth club in the country to bolster their coaching set-up, by earning Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) accreditation in association with the Bill McLaren Foundation on the 9th of September 2012.
It joins Hillfoots Rugby Club in Clackmannanshire which won its accreditation back in December 2011.

Tommy Boyle (Winning Scotland Foundation) as well as Alan and Linda Lawson (Bill McLaren Foundation) presented the club with the accreditation honours. Coaches, parents and players were also joined by Grant Gilchrist and Henry Edwards.
Jim Gov, Alloa Vice President and a member of the PCS steering group at the club, said: "The challenge now is to embed the core values of friendship, discipline, respect, commitment and reliability that we have identified into our club ethos and create a sustainable culture to secure our future.
“By providing a positive environment and experience in and around our club we will retain members for the future viability of rugby in Alloa help our youngsters grow-up and mature as they move into the wider community."
Jock Peggie, Scottish Rugby’s UKCC Development Manager, said: "This is another great example of a club working hard to put the key principles of positive coaching into practice at all levels of the club to gain accreditation by actually living the principles through their day-to-day operations.
“Everyone at the club is working together not only to develop their players in rugby but to develop their players through rugby."
The Positive Coaching Scotland programme in association with The Bill McLaren Foundation operates as a partnership between sportscotland, the Winning Scotland Foundation, the Bill McLaren Foundation and Scottish Rugby and has the main aims to build and sustain a strong and positive rugby culture in order to develop young rugby players and develop young people through the sport.
