Kelly Brown & Scotland Team Mates sing Highland Cathedral
Thanks to Foundation supporter and Scottish rugby fan Simon Paterson-Brown and fellow lyricist Chris Thomson who have written the a vocal version of the superb Highland Cathedral tune. Proceeds from the tune are kindly benefitting the Bill McLaren Foundation as well as fellow rugby charities Hearts and Balls and the Murrayfield Centenary Fund.
Linda Lawson, Bill's daughter and Foundation Director said "I think this is a great idea to raise money for the three rugby charities. It's such a beautiful tune, it really stirs the emotions and it also has a special significance for us as it was one of Dad's favourite tunes. I can't wait to hear it at Murrayfield on Saturday!"

Scotland’s first game at Murrayfield against Italy in the Six Nations Championship coincides with the release of the first ever single featuring various members of the Scottish Rugby Squad. Beneficiaries of the song include the Scottish Rugby Charities: Hearts and Balls, The Murrayfield Centenary Fund and The Bill McLaren Foundation.
Produced by renowned Scottish music producer Calum Malcolm (Blue Nile, Clannad, Simple Minds, Orange Juice, Wet Wet Wet etc ), the classic pipe tune ‘Highland Cathedral’ has at last been set to uplifting and forward looking lyrics, with lead vocals performed by Kelly Brown.
This is a wonderful new vocal version of a great pipe tune which encompasses all that is best of Scotland and her people, involving in addition to current Scottish players, children from Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen city primary schools. It will be released by leading Scottish record label The Music Kitchen at midnight Saturday 9th February 2013.
