Historic Limited Edition South of Scotland Print

A special limited edition print produced exclusively for the Bill McLaren Foundation is now available for sale, but be quick because there are only a few available! Of the 50 prints produced, ten will be auctioned off at large corporate dinners, leaving 40 for sale to the public. Already half have been pre-sold.
The prints feature an image from the 1988 game between South of Scotland and Australia, with legends Michael Lynagh and David Campese prominent surrounded by ten South players at a packed Mansfield Park. The piece of artwork itself is wonderful but the value has been added by getting 75 of the legends of the South of Scotland to sign it - legends from the early 1950s right through to 1995 when the South played their final game of the amateur era. The print therefore has become a fantastic historical document.
Five of the team from 1952 who drew with South Africa have signed - Jim Inglis, Derek Brown, Arthur Dorward, Rob Naylor and Hugh McLeod. Big international names from the Borders like Jim Telfer, Craig Chalmers, Tony Stanger, Colin Deans, Gregor Townsend, Jim Renwick, Bryan Redpath, Peter Brown, John Jeffrey, Peter Dods, John Frame, Roy Laidlaw and John Rutherford are all included. It really is an incredible piece of Borders Rugby history.
The aim of the exercise is to raise between £5000 and £10,000 for the Bill McLaren Foundation and if anyone wishes to snap up one of the few remaining you can get in touch directly with John Thorburn, secretary of the Bill McLaren Foundation, on 07929 655132. The price is just £120 - a fraction of what the true value is for a magnificent investment for the future.

Thanks very much to Stuart Cameron of Borders Rugby TV who thought of the original idea and worked so tirelessly to get all the South legends to sign! www.bordersrugby.net
