Spotlight on Success: Grant recipient Aadya Chadalawada
This week, we're proud to shine a spotlight on one of our outstanding grant recipients: Aadya Chadalawada.
Aadya is a rising tennis talent from Edinburgh with big dreams. When she needed support to fund essential training and tournament entries, The Bill McLaren Foundation was thrilled to step in and help her stay on course toward her goals.
And what a journey it’s been so far!
Receiving the BMF Grant, Aadya shared, "…has helped me play in some really important tournaments, which means I get to compete against better players, and that pushes me to improve.”
That drive and determination has paid off. With the support of the grant, Aadya has:
Won three Tennis Scotland events
Finished runner-up twice
Claimed a national title at a Grade 2 tournament
Reached the Top 4 in 8 out of 11 competitions
Climbed into the Top 3 of the TS Open Tour 2025 leaderboard, as its youngest player!
“It feels amazing to be doing so well and making progress,” she says.
At The Bill McLaren Foundation, we’re incredibly proud to back talented young athletes like Aadya, not just because of what they achieve on the court, but because of the inspiration they bring to others.
“It’s like [the Foundation and their supporters] believe in me, so I believe in myself even more.”
Aadya also recognises the broader impact of her journey: “Little kids who look like me see what I’m doing and know that achieving their dreams is possible.”
We’re cheering you on every step of the way, Aadya and we can't wait to see how far your talent and drive will take you!
