The Calcutta Cup Long Lunch - £60k raised!!

The Calcutta Cup Long Lunch on 13th February delivered an unforgettable afternoon in the stunning setting of Prestonfield House, bringing together friends of the game in support of The Bill McLaren Foundation and Boroughmuir Rugby and Community Sports Club.

From the warm welcome to the final round of applause, the atmosphere was electric. Guests were treated to brilliant stories and plenty of laughter from Lawrence Dallaglio and Jim Hamilton, while a surprise appearance from Scotland’s Vice-Captain Finn Russell added extra excitement with behind-the-scenes insights from the international stage.

Expertly steered by MC Rory Lawson, the afternoon flowed seamlessly, building to the trademark Long Lunch crescendo as Bleeker had the room singing in full voice.

The live and silent auctions, led with great humour by Alex Fleming, sparked fierce bidding and extraordinary generosity. The funds raised will make a meaningful difference to both charities - a powerful reminder of what the rugby community can achieve together.

With thanks to our sponsors - Cold Town Beer, Scottish Building Society, Conduit Finance and MPact - and to everyone who attended, supported and contributed, the Long Lunch was a celebration of great company, great causes and the enduring spirit of the game.
