The Bill McLaren Foundation was delighted to host another fantastic fundraising golf day at the stunning Blairgowrie Golf Club, generously sponsored once again by Carbon Financial Ltd.

Despite the changeable weather we had excellent company - including Deacon Blue’s Dougie Vipond, plus former Scottish internationalists Tony Stanger and Duncan Hodge - and some truly impressive golf on display. The day proved to be another wonderful celebration of sport, friendship and fundraising in support of the Foundation’s ongoing work preserving and promoting Bill McLaren’s incredible legacy.

Blairgowrie is always a fitting venue for the occasion as Bill famously played the course alongside the legendary Peter Alliss during an episode of Around with Alliss. Players were treated to immaculate fairways, challenging greens and breathtaking scenery throughout the day.

A huge congratulations goes to this year’s winning team of Tino Nombro, Martin Dempsey, Keith Anderson and James Roger, whose outstanding performance saw them claim top honours after a competitive day on the fairways.

There were also individual prizes awarded for some exceptional shots and drives, presented by Scottish and British Lions legend Gavin Hastings:

Longest Women’s Drive - Cath Munro

Longest Men’s Drive - Grant Mitchell

Nearest the Pin - John Campbell

Most importantly, the day was another brilliant fundraising success, helping support the Foundation’s work in celebrating the values Bill McLaren championed throughout his life - community, education and friendship.

The Bill McLaren Foundation would like to thank everyone who took part, supported the event and contributed to making the day such a memorable occasion. Special thanks once again to Carbon Financial Ltd for their continued generosity and support.

If you would like to take part in next year’s golf day, please email luci@billmclarenfoundation.co.uk to register your interest.
