Team McLaren goes the extra mile for the Foundation

Bill’s grandchildren Lindsay and James, alongside Foundation team members Emma and Luci.

Three generations of the McLaren family joined members of the Bill McLaren Foundation team last Sunday to put their best foot forward and raise funds for BMF.

Bill’s daughter, two of his grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, alongside two members of the Foundation team, took part in The Kiltwalk 2026.

The Mighty Striders tackled an impressive 20-mile route from St Andrews to Dundee, while the Wee Wanderers completed 4 miles in the city.

Despite a rather wet start to the day, the rain thankfully stopped just as the team crossed the start line. From there on in, there was great chat, lots of laughs and plenty of blister plasters to keep everyone going.

Most importantly, the walkers have raised an incredible £1,830 for the Bill McLaren Foundation, smashing their original £1,000 target.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who has donated, shared the fundraising appeal and supported the team. Your generosity will help the Foundation continue Bill’s legacy and use rugby and its values to positively impact lives and communities across Scotland and beyond.

With £2,000 now within touching distance, there’s still time to support the team and help them go that little bit further.

Can you help them reach £2,000?
